NEUROCEROS! (2025)

Design credit: Will Fu

a dance-Theatre performance work inspired, in part, by the play “Rhinocéros”, written by Romanian-French playwright Eugène Ionesco in 1959. We will expand on themes from this absurdist play as they relate to our present time. “Rhinocéros” serves as a response to and critique of the rise of Fascism and Nazism before World War II. We are in a similar situation today, with a global order shifting again.

Our performance will unfold over three acts, exploring conformity, responsibility, logic, morality, mass movements, mob mentality, communication, networks, and neuroses.

Ultimately, we aim to address the question: As progress on social, moral, and environmental issues is reversed, who are we becoming, and how do we navigate this change?

Performance name: NEUROCEROS!
Performance Dates: September 4, 5, 6, 2025.
Performance Venue: Vantek Warehouse, aka Inudtrial Garden at 326 Clark Avenue, Vancouver
